On June 1, 2023, JFS held our 5th Annual Community Matters Event honoring Natalie Gelb. It was our return to our event post-pandemic as our 4th annual event was held in 2019.

This was the first time we recorded the presentation portion of the event to share!

The 5th Annual Community Matters Event which was held at the Scranton Cultural Center and catered by Pocono Kosher was sponsored in part by Toyota Scranton and raised over $20,000 for JFS programs and services, a record amount for the event. Sara E. Solfanelli was the guest speaker and spoke about her mother’s years of impact on our community. Music and entertainment were provided by Doug Smith.

Over 140 people attended the event including previous honorees James and Susan Connors, Morey and Sondra Myers, and Louis and Barbara Nivert.
